Mom is going to make lots of food tomarrow, we are trying to go all American even if us kids can't get soda... and tonight we are gaming on our Wii. I suggested we watch Independance Day, but since it involves lots of peril with the aliens and the fact I haven't even seen it yet because I don't really like scary movies, we probably won't. So, then we'll watch the fireworks, which are very close to our house and then go from there. Hope everyone else has a good Independance Day!

Hey, something other than screenshots. So I've started taking pictures of my Shaak Ti Figure. That's all.

I was thinking about it for a time and I thought what the heck, just write it. So I'll give what I personaly think is good and bad about this three hour long movie...some of you who are reading this may have different views and I will understand that.

Story:

Humans go to Pandora, wasting 6 years of there life getting there, they are there for a mineral, they don't care if they're harming the moon and it's fauna, the main character gets sent to relocate the natives since they just happen to be on the largest deposit of this mineral, he falls in love with the princess (I feel sorry for her, really I do), he betrays her, she hates him, then he (most extraordinarily) becomes a TurokMakto (which I thought was a Na'vi thing), he wins Neytiri back, there's a battle (one of the most disgusting things about Jake Sully is that he seems to enjoy killing his own race), Eywa (the goddess) sends the creatures of Pandora to fight aswell, Neytiri kills Quaritch, Jake mercy kills Tsu-tey (extended version) Jake decides to transfer himself into his avatar body and leave his human body, so he could lead these poor people.

That's the story. Pocahontas!

The Good Stuff:

The first thing that drew my attention to this movie was the aliens. Now I love movies with aliens above anyother kind. I had no idea what this movie was about. So I saw it. The aliens are tall, slim, have tails, are "perfect", and they have these bioluminescent specks all over their skin.  I'm not going to get started with the Na'vi language.

The Bad Stuff (to my own view and trust me, this could go much longer):

Okay, first of all I want to say that the amount of language in this movie was totally unnecessary. Now I don't mind rude language in movies, but when it's completely filled with almost every bad word and name you could think of at every corner (and I'm legitimately surprised that the f word isn't present) . I guess Cameron thought that would be going too far...uh-huh. The language spoken is mostly given by the main character who throws them out every chance he can get. Speaking of the main character, Jake Sully is one of the worst characters I've ever seen. There was no connection between me and him. He's dull and irritating.

The CGI is blurry and could be worse.

The mineral the humans are "stripping" from this planet is called "Unobtainium" (did I spell that right?). Environmentalist message people...ugh. I just laugh whenever I hear this word. Why call in UNOBTAINium when it's completely obtainable.

Now there are a few things I noticed in this movie that really reminds me of other things. Such as the "Na'vi" having the same name as Link's fairy partner in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time with just an apostrophe added.

(It's also funny that when you type "Navi" in the search box here at DA you hope to find pictures of our dear "HEY, Listen!" fairy that everyone knows and loves (unless you hate her annoying guts) and you get nearly naked blue people in the results.)

What was incredibly noticable was that the animals on Pandora have exactlly the same sounds as the dinosaurs in Jarassic Park.

Now, this is a very environmentalist movie, you can see it written all over this movie, but things aggravate me apart from the environmentalist message:
It's anti-military AND anti-human. The humans are the bad guys in this movie and I'm not just saying a few, I mean the whole freaking race!

You know, for the long years in the making and dreaming it up before then, you'd think Mr. Cameron could have made a better plot. I mean this one is boring, unoriginal and it is because we've heard this story before in Pocahantas. He focused on the special effects and everything else more than he did to make a decent story out of this.

Hope you found this helpful before you ruin three hours of your life watching this - Bye :D

I got a third rubber band inserted in my mouth today. This ONE hurts awful like the others did. It has to go in front of my teeth to bring my jaw to the left. So, it hurts. The other two have been banned in the day and I can only wear them at night, woohoo...so, my jaw is now being forced to go up and to the left. Thought I'd share this with the world...heh...
